Service Projects

We will be working together as a troop to earn the
President's Volunteer
Service Award.
For the calendar year of 2004, the troop earned the Bronze Level Award for
Groups by completing over
250 hours of community service.
In 2005, we are worked towards the Silver Level Award for Groups and
completed more than
500 hours of community service!

This Year's
Proposed Service Projects
| August | School Supply Drive to benefit local churches and Bronze Award Project needs: all manner of school supplies, particularly concentrated on supplies for older students, containers for "new leader boxes" |
| November | Operation Christmas Child to benefit Samaritan's Purse needs: socks, underwear, soap and washcloths, toothbrushes and toothpaste hair care items, small toys, candy, stickers, pencils and small notepads; see website for list of "do's and don'ts" |
Due to the fact that MOST of our scout will be working towards Bronze and Silver Awards, we have decided to allow many of our monthly Service Projects to assist in those. Candidates for the higher awards must notify the Leaders to request assistance as well as request a vote during Patrol Meeting time. Once done, a month and date for collection will be assigned and details handed out to Scouts, parents and posted on the website. Some months, we will have the opportunity to help with more than one Service Project!!! How fantastic that we will have so many chances to "make the world a better place!"
