Our Accomplishments

All scouts will earn many badges this year, and will have the opportunity to collect many interest patches.
Because of the large size and multiple levels of our troop this year, we will not be completing whole badges at each meeting.  Scouts will be required to keep track of their own badge progress.  Below are the activities that we've worked on in meetings and on troop outings and campouts.

Junior Badges...
Are earned by Junior Girl Scouts aged 8-11.  These badges are earned by completing six activities from the Junior Girl Scout Badge Book.  As Junior Girl Scouts are becoming more autonomous, more of their work is done at home.  For this reason, each scout will work on the subsections of her choice, while we all work to complete the same badge.

Cadette Badges...
Are earned by Cadette Girl Scouts aged 11-14.  These badges are earned by completing seven activities from the Cadette and Senior Interest Project Book; two Skill Builders, one Technology, one Service, one Career Exploration and two more of the scout's choice .  As Cadette Girl Scouts are becoming more autonomous and more responsible for setting and achieving their own goals, a majority of their work is done at home.  For this reason, each scout will work on the subsections of her choice, while we all work to complete the same badge.  A Cadette IPA will take much longer to complete than Junior Badges did - just as Junior Badges took longer to complete than Brownie Try-Its.  Emphasis should be on the learning experienced - not the number of awards amassed.
