Songs and Games

At the Daisy Creek Service Unit Thinking Day Festival on February 28th, we will
sing:
The Hong Kong Song
(a repeat song we made up...to the tune of The Princess Pat)
Guides from Hong Kong
Sisters are we
From far across
The seven seas
Come visit us
And when you do
We'll give to you
A sprig of bamboo
A sprig of bamboo
Now what is that?
A plant that grows
Where Hong Kong's flat
It's green and tall
And leafy, too
And pandas love
A sprig of bamboo
At our Court of Awards on January 12th we sang:
"G" for Generosity
She wears a "G" for generosity
She wears and "I" for interest, too
she wears a "R" for real-life sportsmanship
She wears an "L" for loyalty
She wears an "S" for her sincerity
She wears a "C" for courtesy
She wears an "O-U-T" for outdoor life (outdoor life)
And that Girl Scout is ME
* stand in front of the mirror when you practice - you have to do the letters to
your left (I know it feels backwards) to look right for your audience.
On My Honor
On my honor, I will try
There's a duty to be done and I say aye'
There's a reason here,
Oh, a reason up above,
My honor is to try and my duty is to love.
People don't need to know my name,
If I've done any harm,
Then I'm to blame,
If I've helped anyone, then I've helped me,
When I open up my eyes to see.
I've tucked away a song or two,
If you're feeling low, there's one for you.
If you need a friend, then I will come,
And there's so many more where I come from.
Come with me where a fire burns bright,
We can even see better by candlelight,
We can find more meaning in a campfires glow,
Than we ever learned in a year, or so.
On my honor, I will try
There's a duty to be done and I say aye'
There's a reason here,
Oh, a reason up above,
My honor is to try and my duty is to love.
For the Snellville Service Unit Variety Show on December 6th we sang:
Take Me Out of the Bathtub
(to the tune of.. Take Me Out to the Ball Game)
Take me out of the bathtub
I'm stuck in here with my toys
Duckies and dollies I think are great
But I'd better take off my ro-o-ller skates
'Cause each time I stand up, I wobble
I teeter, I totter, I fall
I tried once, twice, three times to stand
And I just put a hole in the wall.
Take me out of the bathtub
Take me out of the suds
I've been here soaking since half past two
I feel so sudsy and wrinkle-y too
Oh, I washed all over my body
My head, my toes, in between
I used one, two, three bars of soap
Take me out, I'm clean
At our Investiture and Rededication Ceremony we sang for our
parents:
Make New Friends
Make new friends
and keep the old
One is silver and the other gold.
A circle is round
It has no end
That's how long I want to be your friend.
Pink Pajamas...is a troop favorite
I wear my pink pajamas in the summer when it's hot,
I wear my flannel nightie in the winter when it's not.
And sometimes in the springtime and sometimes in the fall,
I jump between the sheets with nothing on at all!
Glory, glory what's it too ya'
Glory, glory what's it too ya'
Balmy breezes blowin' through ya'
With nothin' on at all
