Q: Do I earn points towards recognitions if I work a booth sale?
A: Of course, you do!! Now are you ready for the really complicated formula???
You get points for every half hour that you work
We find the total number of half hours worked by all girls
Then, we find the TOTAL number of boxes sold at that booth sale
Now, are you ready for the tricky math??
Take the total number of boxes sold and DIVIDE that by the total number of
half hours worked (by all girls combined)
Now take that number and MULTIPLY that by the number of half hours you worked
and you get the number of Recognitions Points that you earned
Example:
Suzie worked 1 hour (or 2 half hours)
Jenny worked 2 and a half hours (or 5 half hours)
Mary worked 3 hours (or 6 half hours)
ALL TOGETHER they worked 13 half hours
They sold 104 boxes of cookies
Take the total number of boxes sold (104) and DIVIDE that by the total number
of half hours worked (13)=8
Now take that number (8) and multiply that by the number of half hours you
worked:
| Suzie worked 1 hour (or 2 half hours) | so 2 x 8 = | 16 boxes |
| Jenny worked 2 and a half hours (or 5 half hours) | so 5 x 8 = | 40 boxes |
| Mary worked 3 hours (or 6 half hours) | so 6 x 8 = | 48 boxes |
In other words:
the more half hours you work,
the more recognitions points you earn!
