Girl Scout
Ways To earn our Girl Scout Ways try-it, we each explained part of the Girl Scout Law for our Investiture and Rededication Ceremony. We Learned the Girl Scout handshake and quiet signs, and we had lots of fun practicing the Friendship Circle and Friendship Squeeze. We made sit-upons. AND we made 'smores in the toaster oven - no campfire required! |

My Body To earn our My Body try-it, we made a body parts puppet. We played the Fit Body Game, and we played Balloon Volley. We learned about our pulse and muscles - and we talked about our brain power. You should have seen us writing our names while we kicked our feet - VERY messy! |

Citizen Near and Far To earn our Citizen Near and Far try-it, we talked about people in our community who are good citizens. We talked about the importance of laws and voting, and we talked about how to make sure that we all get along! |

Make It & Eat It To earn our Make It and Eat It try it, we made Brownie Soup - well not exactly, we made Brownie Trail Mix. We also made fruit fizzes and we made a great Recipe Book - look at our Recipes page for a sample! |

Eat Right, Stay Healthy To earn our Eat Right, Stay Healthy try-it, we talked about the foods we eat - roots, stems, leavers, flowers and berries - and we tasted! We talked about dairy foods and had yogurt parfaits! We even had a chance to play with our food making food people! |

| On November 18th, we packed our boxes for Operation Christmas Child. We set a goal of packing 2 boxes per brownie this year. When we were finished, we had packed 29 boxes. We exceeded our goal by 5 boxes! And we're sending a lot of Christmas Cheer to children all over the world!! | ||

Science Wonders To Earn our Science Wonders try-it we did a Magnet Hunt and We learned about Static Electricity. We did experiment where we learned about properties of liquids. We floated food coloring on top of milk - then we added a little dish soap - and watched the colors swirl - as the soap broke the surface of the milk fat molecules. Then we did an experiment where we used Alka-Seltzer to make a film canister "explode" - WOW - that was fun!! |

Math Fun We learned all about numbers! We talked all about our own numbers. We made a hour glass (ok, so it was more like a 3 minute glass). We played Can You Guess and we made a cool Decoder Necklace with a Secret Code! |

Numbers and Shapes We learned all about tangrams - and all the cool pictures you can make with just a few shapes. We tried our hands at origami. We played with Mobius Strips and we made our own Jigsaw Puzzles with our troop photo. |

People of the World We earned our People of the World Try-it as part of our World Thinking Day Celebration. We learned about the languages in 14 different countries. We played games from several countries; and we made flags from countries all over the world. |

Around the World We earned our Around The World Try-it as part of our World Thinking Day Celebration. We did the Look at the World portion as we located all of our countries on the globe. Earlier in the year we made a troop recipe book - and at Thinking Day we added some foreign recipes to it. Instead of playing Tapatan, we played Seega - a game from Egypt. |

World We earned our Brownies Around The World Try-it as part of our World Thinking Day Celebration. We learned about Brownies in eight different countries all over the world. We studied their songs, games, uniforms and customs. We learned a lot about our Brownie sisters. |

We used our computers as an important research tool. With our computers and the internet we were able to learn lots about our Brownie Sisters all over the world. |

Power We talked about how we would use our Cookie Dough. We learned about real money and counterfeit money - and how Monopoly Money isn't accepted at toy stores. We talked about saving money and about using money wisely. |

Travel Right In anticipation of Spring Break traveling, we talked about how to keep safe while traveling, We made busy kits with some neat travel games inside. We made Troop Songbooks, and we made a Travel Journal. Now we're ready to travel!! |

Eco-Explorer To earn our Eco-Explorer Try-it, we spent time exploring the area around our meeting place. We found examples of living and non-living things. We talked about the things required to make a habitat and then we each made our own habitats. Some of us made pictures, while others made dioramas, Then we did our part to help the wildlife in our environment by picking up litter. |

Earth is our Home In celebration or Earth Day, we took some time to celebrate our planet. We played a Recycle Relay and talked about what we can do to save energy at home. Then, we made our own terrariums! |

Me and My Shadow Playing shadow tag was lots of fun!! We made silhouettes and we had fun making shadow animals. We also made votives of tin cans with neat holes that the light can show through and create shadows - that was hard work - but they look nice!
